August is almost over, What???

Ok this has got to be the faster summer on record! Holy cow I'm still recovering from July.
So August started out with the fair...Yeah!!! All of our work over the summer was going to finally pay off right? NOT. It was not such a good year for our little pigs. I think it was just too cold of a spring so the pigs did not grow like they should have. So needless to say both of Kaiden's pigs did not make weight :( Which also meant he didn't get to sell them in the Market Sale. But he still showed them in the feeder class to get the experience and did a great job. Way to go bud!

Then the next week we were off to Lagoon with the Summerfest kids from Apple Tree. (Have I ever mentioned how much I love my job?) On our way down we stopped at 105.5 The Hawk for an impromptu tour of the radio station. Not to mention this was at 8:00 in the morning so we got to watch them do a live on air broadcast. The kids thought it was awesome.
Thanks so much for having us Brother Dale and Jess.
The kids were all so QUIET while they were "on air"
Yahoo,We finally made it! We had such a fun group of kids this year it was one of the best by far! I'm already looking forward to next year ;)

Watch out white roller coaster, here we come!!

It had been a few week since baseball was over so of course we can't slow down too much so on to FOOTBALL!!! Yep we do love us some football so we can hardly wait! Kaiden's first game was actually a jamboree down at Rexburg. This week the real games begin.

So Kaiden was a little bummed he didn't get uncle Todd's football number 57. Since he's a receiver he has to have a receiver's number, go figure right? So he picked #85. Then come to find out that was Grandpa Stoddard's number in high school. I think Grandpa was pretty proud.

Hey Kaiden I think both your uncles are pretty excited to watch you. Especially when you were tromping on Sugar ;) Well at least uncle Todd was pretty happy to see that. But knowing Shawn he's just glad to watch you play. So make 'em proud #85! You've got two big uncles in your corner cheering you on!
Now as August is winding down, oh how I hate the thought of that. But I have to face reality. School started on Monday :( The kids were excited to go back to school. Me on the other hand not so much. Kreston is just happy to see the bus again. That's his favorite part.
So the school year begins....
Waking up early
Eating breakfast
Getting ready
Packing lunches
Catching the bus on time
Kreston and I getting ready
Off to Work
Home from school and work
HOMEWORK!!!
Football Practice or whatever else happens to be going on that evening
Dinner
Off to Bed
And then we do it all over again!!!

Kaiden decided he's now too old for me to take him to school on the first day. What? Mr. Big 5th grader is too cool for me now. Ouch!
At least my 2nd grader, Cassidy still needed me.
Can you believe they wouldn't let me take a picture of them on their first day? Way to cool for that! When did my little ones grow up and get attitudes? And who told them they could?

At least I still have Kreston who will let me take pictures, even if his tongue is always out!
So happy school year, some say its the most wonderful time of the year. I tend to disagree. I look forward to those quiet moments of the summer when we weren't as rushed from one place to another. Call me crazy but I tend to miss my two older rugrats during the day. Its not like I can go to their class to see them or that they can stop by my office to blow me a kiss or a wink and say Hi. Those are the moments I miss all school year. So until our fun summer comes again kiddos, lets try not to kill each other at 6 am when its time to get up!

  1. Your right this summer has been the fastest one on record. Kaiden and Cassidy need to stop growing up to fast indeed!! I'm sure you remember all the times you said I wish I was older. I remember them too and I now say "life was so much easier when I was a child. I wish I could be a kid again." haha If they only knew they would say the same things. Oh wait I seem to recall vague memories of mom and dad saying the same thing! LOL Should have listened :)
Thats neat I didn't know dad's number was 85! I bet he was proud. As for Todd and Shawn I bet they are missing seeing all these kids grow up and the activities they do. I can't help to wonder how it would be if they were still here with us and how different it would be. :O) Keep writtin I love to read your blog!

  3. This is our first year dealing with the "school schedule." Your list sums it up exactly (except the bus part). Sounds like life at our house! Glad to see your doing the blog. Love it!!
